Desire Path #24
Hello friends and happy new year!
Today’s issue of Desire Path is going to be the last one, for now. You can still find us on Twitter and join us on Discord to talk about photography, web3, movies and just about anything.
Thank you all, and enjoy!
Two Crossed Paths
“Everyday” is an ongoing self-portrait project by Noah Kalina. The project officially started on January 10th, 2000, when Noah was 19, after receiving his first digital camera, the Sony DCR PC100.
Today project turns 23 and has a new permanent home on everyday.photo. Each day in the Everyday project can be minted as an NFT.
Three Photo Projects
“Palm River” by Chadwick Tyler.
“Buscando a Bolívar #2” by Pietro Paolini. Documented journey through Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela between 2009 and 2014, during the presidencies of Evo Morales, Rafael Correa and Hugo Chavez.
“Our Gaze” by Miguel Ribeiro. A project about young love.
Four Art Projects
“Promise Land v.2” by Gregory Eddi Jones uses T.S. Eliot's modernist masterpiece, The Waste Land, as its point of departure. To produce this work, Jones appropriated common stock and advertising photographs and engaged in strategies of digital composite and physical ink manipulations.
“Silent Whispers” by Tomeo.
“Breakwater” by SAU.
Five Things to Check Out
Five unintended consequences of photography (an appreciation of time).
Photographer Antti Karppinen shot photos for a client which became the basis of a dataset so that AI images can be produced of the models — removing the need for him to shoot any more photos.
Thanks for reading Desire Path!
