Desire Path #14
Hello friends, welcome to another issue of Desire Path — a newsletter for photographers and photography aficionados interested in NFTs and web3.
Two Crossed Paths
“TALE no.1 : Self mythology” by Bet Orten. A mysterious constellation of personal myths.
“The Living Dune” by Peter Hoffman was photographed at Jockey's Ridge in Nags Head, North Carolina. Considered a “living dune”, it has changed in shape over thousands of years and continues to move to this day. This shift is threatening the homes of residents nearby, hence a dilemma arises—should people interfere? It also calls into question the very idea of what a natural environment is, or what it should be.
Three Photo Projects
Alessandra Sanguinetti - an edit from two bodies of work: “The Adventures of Guille and Belinda” and the “Enigmatic Meaning of Their Dreams”. Over two decades, Alessandra has captured the imaginations and lives of two cousins living in rural Argentina. Childhood in these images is both familiar and exceptional.
“Clearly Concealed” by Robert LeBlanc is a series of portraits taken from behind each individual. Even though each person's identity is kept hidden, it's easy to identify their personalities through their choices of clothing, jewelry, headwear, and tattoos.
“Endless Questions” by Mariam Amurvelashvili. An intimate look into the complexity growing up. Each photo tries to answer life’s endless questions.
Four Art Projects
“split feelings” by Yassi. Photographic collages made from torn-apart prints.
“tongue tied and torn at heart.
welcome to split feelings.
let's tear you apart.”
“Soundings” by Ortho Stice. Photographs of the ocean processed through an audio editor — sound travelling through deep water.
“First Wave” by Jeanne Beuvin. Women who surf.
“Teletubbies” by face paint artist and photographer Malka Napas. A visual discourse on truth, lies and reality.
